The view that it's ok is a myth; no one really believes that it's ok who has any sort of moral compass. Unfortunately, the number of morally misguided people is pretty high. So, just make sure that you're dating people of a higher caliber of morals and you won't have this issue.

 IT isn't cool no matter what you gender is. However, it has been the "norm" that it was OK for men to cheat for centuries, changing that attitude will not be done over night.
It is comparable to the "myth" that a MAN with many sexual partners is a stud and a WOMAN with many sexual partner is a whore.
Or boy will be boy.....
What it comes down too is this, don't compromise your morals and values.
