Why do you think he forgets to call and act as if it did not matter he's forgotten? I find this hurtful.

A female United States age 22-25, anonymous writes:

I have been w/my bf for 4 years and we are happy when we are together. We go to college close to each other and he spends most of his time at my school because I have a suite and a single room. He also doesn't really hang that much w/the guys at his school, and he now has friends at my school. I worry about why he never wants to spend time at his school, but he says it's his choice. At school, he calls a lot when we are apart and is very attentive. Whenever I go away on a break home or he goes home for a few days w/out me, he seems different. He forgets to call sometimes when he says he will. He doesn't seem as interested when the day before I left he was so great. The other day he was working on cars all day w/some of the guys at his school which I thought was good. I was home on a break. Again, even after we talked about it, it was as if I didn't matter since he forgot to call and when I ask why he says he doesn't know or he forgot. This really hurts my feelings and makes me feel so confused. I basically told him he needs to stop doing it.....period. Why do you think this happens?
