Why do some men perceive women as entertainment . I’ve seen this attitude from so many men and even seen it stated here on this round that women are men’s entertainment . Why do some

Men think women are here solely for their viewing pleasure and not to be treated equally as men are . Why do they assume that women dress in shirt dresses for men’s attention in summer rather than to keep cool in the heat just as men wear shorts and cooler clothing. It seems that we have not come far at all despite many saying women have equality this seems such a facade.

I hardly think prison population is a way to compare wuaulity particularly when large numbers are in their for offences against women . In fact victims of crime is a more reliable way of showing inequality . Sure more men may be in prison but many are in prison because they abuse women and you are now trying to turn them into the victims

More males may be murdered but who is predominately murdering them ? Men.

Women are at more risk of assault from a man and that’s the reality . Girls are sexually abused in higher numbers and you’re trying to use the fact that men are impriaoned as proof that the world is not equal for men . Wow

Yes most women and men do want equality and recognise that people who are improaoned are usually guilty of crimes not sent to prison because of some secret agenda where men get locked away and women don’t

Fatherly Advice agony auntOne commonly used method of identifying discrimination is to compare prison populations to the general population. In The US (for example) Female population is 51%. Female prison population is 7%. In the UK female prison population is 4%. So much for the "Patriarchy".

Are you sure "equality" is what you want?

socialisation is the answer to all of this. patriarchy conditions men to see women as sub human.

Op here , thanks for the replies . I definitely don’t take offence for all women and it’s up to women to decide whether they take offence or not. That was never what I said I also never said that all men see women this way . I was careful to say some men as I’m well aware that it’s some men and not all men who see women this way . As for both genders being objectified I don’t think there could be much argument that women are much much more sexually objectified in society , through media through pornography and in real life . I recognise that people like to be seen as attractive and see no issue with this however when SOME members of one gender treats the other as entertainment and less than human it can result in such things as disvrination workplace inequality and sexual abuse and assault . I simply don’t see this in the newspapers each morning on the type of levels against men that I do each morning where I read article every single day about women being raped, even murdered followed by half naked women being displayed in bikinis with men commenting on their bodies and whether or not they consider them attractive ... and that’s the news !

They are the types of things that make it a serious issue . I’m not simply referring to men and women wanting to flirt and look nice for one another I’m talking about the relatively high level of acceptance of women as ornament attitude that seems so prevalent among SOME and perhaps even many men , not all obviously

Short tight revealing clothing is not just to stay cool. It has another purpose. It shows-off curves, lovely legs, accentuates or draws attention to the female-figure, and some ladies like to look pretty...period! They don't dress-up for other women; unless they are attracted to women. If we want to speak in broad-generalities and paint with broad strokes!

Some women like to be entertainment for men, and love to be admired. Why not?

Common in both genders, good-looking people love attention; and don't have any trouble getting it.

Men have to prove how masculine they are, project power and strength. They have to be prepared to absorb female-insecurities, while enduring widespread distrust and suspicion; which makes many men commitment-phobic...generally-speaking! Read DC daily, and draw your own conclusions!

Sometimes it's safer to look; than to touch, or get too emotionally- involved. Generalizing, of course.

Relationships are becoming increasingly superficial; because many people...male and female...have no depth. What you see, is not exactly what you're getting.

Too many people (regardless of gender) in our present-times don't know how to communicate. They have ridiculous misguided-notions of what love is. Many people whine and complain about everything, and everybody. Yet they don't have a clue what they really want from others! They don't know what to do, when they happen upon someone good for them. They screw-it-up with distrust and insecurity! The irony in all this is; those who complain the most, rarely can live-up to their own high expectations and standards!

Your bitterness and sexist-cynicism towards men is evidence of your frustration. Sorry, if you haven't had a great amount of luck with the men you've met. You won't live long enough to survey enough men in your lifetime to affirm your theory as even remotely factual. It's obviously anecdotal. Such opinions come from pain. You might find sympathizers, but that doesn't make it true.

A great number of people can't form and maintain relationships; because they can't forgive and move forward. They've got to be right, and can't compromise. They lie without reason; or reject the truth as a personal-attack. They dwell on pain ages-old, subsist on their vindictiveness, and self-pity; then become trapped in their self-defeat and anger. They have to find somebody to blame or to fault. The face looking-back in the mirror usually has the answer. Don't be held captive to what a few people have done to hurt you. Get-over it! If it didn't kill you, there's hope for survival!

Why do men go to the gym? Why do they buy expensive cars? Why do they groom themselves, splurge their cash, and flirt? To entertain women!

We all dress-up to appeal to our own vanities first! Getting attention is a great side-effect. If we have a rough-time getting attention; it is more often attributed to attitude, what vibe we project, our general-demeanor when interacting with others, character, and personality.

Surely, it is a fact that women are objectified. So are men! Both genders have their gender-specific negative-traits, and societal-crosses to bear. Women aren't natural-born victims; no more than all men are sex-addicted villains, always mistreating innocent-women, or making them feel terrible about themselves. As your post unfairly implies!

Fatherly Advice agony auntThere is no point in arguing the case or even addressing the question. You have already decided to see men that way.

Please do not start thinking that there is one special man out there who is just waiting for you. Just keep dispising us all. It's safer that way.

A male reader, BrownWolf Canada +, writes (24 July 2019):

BrownWolf agony auntHi OP,

Both men and women are each others entertainment. Hence they have strip clubs for BOTH men and women to entertain both sexes. Porn sites and such.

Women DO wear clothes to attract the opposite sex, as do men. However, women are still considered by far the more sexy of the two. Your long hair, curves, skin, eyes, lips, breast, and so on. This has nothing to do with equality, but base on our sexual desires and preference.

Women are a very essential part of men's life. They always have been, and always will be. We have been design to crave you, to the point of doing stupid things in order to have you.

However, a lot women do not understand this, and think we are just being pigs, or horn dogs...NO!!! It is actually our weakness, and your strength. If you knew how to use it, but sadly most women don't know how to use that strength. Hence this site where so many women want to know how to make their husbands treat them right. Our weakness is the woman...A woman's strengh is actually using her very nature to make us her bitch.

Why do men go to strip clubs??? Because we love seeing naked women? Sure. But their is more to it. Those women have figure out how to tap into the man's mind. They know how to spin it, weave it, mold it, and then...control it. He will hand over his hard earn pay...every cent of it to get a chance with her. Does she want him...No. But she know how to use her nature to make him her bitch. If she is really good...he will be back time and time again.

I have said this many times on this site....If you women knew how much power you have our us, this site would not exist.

A wife can ake her husband treat her like a queen, if she understood how man's mind work. Sad part is...it is more simple than many realize.

A female reader, Honeypie United States + , writes (24 July 2019):

Honeypie agony auntWho knows?

They probably don't SEE it as women are not equal to them, rather that they ENJOY good looking women.

I think YOU are making the presumption that they see woman as you describe.

Also, in some cultures women are STILL viewed as personal property of the father or husband.

Even in the States (USA) if you go back to pre-1930 RAPE was LEGALLY considered property damage.. Can you even imagine?! there still isn't ONE cohesive description of rape.

I look at men AND women sporting nice looking outfits, I think MOST people do, not just men. In summer we ALL show more skin and we probably also LOOK more at other people. When you live in a place like I do (with 5 months of winter) I don't find it strange that people LOOK and notice other people and how they dress when summer rolls around.

Are you offended for OTHER women? Why carry this around? I'd shake my head if I see a man who is OGLING all the bare legs but would I get offended and think I wasn't regarded as an equal? No. That "imaginary man" might or might not think I AM his equal and so what? I don't GIVE a single F! what HE thinks. If he is just a stranger I would care EVEN less. If he was a friend of family, I might have a conversation with him.

Lastly, those of us who DRESS up in CUTE or SEXY or whatever outfits don't just DO it for ourselves. We want others to notice that WE took care about our appearance. Sure, WE also like to look nice for ourselves. Some more than others. And so what? It has nothing to do with equality.
