writes:OK, so I know the question I'm going to ask doesn't apply to all women but...Why do so few women masturbate?I was doing an interveiw on facebook, and with each new question it shows you the answer given by the last 10 participants.The question was "Do you masturbate?" 9/10 women said no, some of them even said that it was sick.What I'm wondering is why? Pretty much all guys do it, why do so few women?

I think you have been misled. A great number of women masturbate daily. I am part owner of over 30 sex shops in 17 states and my business is booming with the sale of sex toys for women. I also have 60 females who throw sex shows or sex parties (like Avon or Tupperware) and they are booked constantly and help my sells. I can tell you this...I have not sold under 4200 dildo's or vibrators in the last 4 years. I'm quite sure that there are some gay men who buy my products, but these sex shows I speak of are only for females and they sell maybe 500 to 700 vibrators a week just from these parties. Don't believe everyone who deny's masturbating.

Women have a high sex drive too, I think it's a bit of a misconception that women aren't sexual. We like hot guys and masturbation just as much as men like hot girls and masturbation. I suspect the real number would be something like 95% of women masturbate.

 Facebook isn't anonymous, so first off: people are probably lying. Even if it is anonymous, people still may be lying. Men are much more open about masturbation, it's a known fact that men do it - just like we all know that men get curious about porn and they think about sex often.
Women, however, it's not expected for them to think about these things or do these things... so all though girls may be doing it in private, they probably won't talk about it the way men do.
Also, a lot of girls don't know where to begin! The female anatomy is a pretty complicated section of the body, and a lot of girls have no idea how to pleasure themselves.
A LOT of girls are doing it, they just aren't as open about it as men are. Especially not on Facebook!!

So its basically a matetr of Sex Drive, Morale, Security and the level of peerr pressure and how comfortable the person is.

I think it's because men have a need for sex, while women have more of a need for affection. My wife only did when she didn't have a man to have sex and affection with. Another girlfriend also told me the same thing.

Most of my girl friends are like that as well, they say it's gross or act like it's a bad thing to do. But a few of my friends are open about that kind of thing, tell me what new vibrator is good, etc.
People were probably embarassed to answer as well, if it's not anonymous.
