reader, anonymous, writes (9 March 2015): I don't know, I think it depends. I mean I have been actively dating since freshman year in college, 18 years old, all through my 20's and early 30's. I am 34 now. What I have noticed when I look back at my life through the years is that I always get hit on by men in my age group or younger. Never older. So when I was in my early 20's, older men weren't really making passes at me. Only guys my age were. As I got older, late 20's, I still was only getting attention from guys my age. Guys in their 20's. Guys older than that were not trying to go out with me. And it's not like I was just going out with the tweenies. I was exposing myself to all sorts of events and all types of people. My girlfriends were not getting hit on by older men either. We were all young, beautiful and attractive. So I don't think this theory is that cut and dry if even realistic. There is, however, a certain type of young girl that lends herself to this type of old-young relationship. Like one of my friends in college had an affair with an older guy, (he was in his 40's, she was 22). Here's why I think it worked: she acted so much older than she was. She was a 33 year old woman in a 22 year old body. She was a romantic, she could sit there and have a long drawn out dinner with a older guy, sip on a fine wine and be mature and discuss mature topics. And that was a perfect evening for her at her tender age. So, naturally she liked older men and they liked her. They saw eye to eye on most things.Me and the rest of my friends were totally immature. Our perfect evening was hitting a party and drinking cheap beer out of a keg, doing a keg stand, perfecting our break beats on the dance floor, hitting on the dj. Laughing and being stupid. So young guys gravitate toward us because we are on the same level of maturity. Older guys would've had to shave 15 years off their maturity level to relate to us and we would've had to feign 15 + years of maturity to relate to them. Just doesn't work. We were the perfect targets for older guys to take advantage of and they didn't. So there is more to it than just being young and cute.

Judging by the fact she is listed to be 18-21, I don't think she is concerned about wrinkles. I am 26 and wonder the same thing, and I don't even look my age.

 My understanding is this is just biological. Nature has conditioned guys to look for signs of health and youth - like smooth skin, firm body, big clear eyes, symmetrical face - because women have a limited number of childbearing years available. The older she is, the higher the risk of infertility and birth defects, supposedly. Personality-wise, a younger girl will also be more impressionable, innocent, less jaded, and have less "baggage" (prior relationships or kids), which is more appealing to many guys than the opposite.This preference is really no different or worse than girls preferring older guys that have more of those traits that females are programmed to seek out - confidence, maturity, stability, status, etc. A mate with these traits is crucial during the months of pregnancy and years of parenting. Youth is not as important since it is associated with a lack of money and experience, and men usually remain fertile their whole lives anyway.But these are all just generalizations. If you simply show guys pictures in the lab, absent any other information, they will tend to prefer the younger types. But out in the real world, individuals go against evolution all the time, with more than a few guys preferring older women and some women liking younger guys. Also, when personality and circumstances come into the picture, people often end up with someone who differs greatly from the "ideal" type in their head. Once you see how someone moves, how they sound, what their views are, and how they relate to you specifically, you can fall for a very different type than you ever thought possible. Love is mysterious and can't be quantified by science. Look at Prince Charles. He is royalty, with money, fame, status and power - yet chooses to be with Camilla Parker Bowles who by many people's standards is old and ugly!To your second question, I think the hymen may or may not be intact in older virgins, as it can be broken by things other than sex (like trauma, horseback riding, tampons, etc). So it doesn't have much to do with actual virginity.

A virgin is a virgin no matter how old.
Men prefer young girls not just because they are hot. Men like sex...we all know that. Younger girls are pack full of energy, sexual hormones, and want to experience things...boils down to...they want lots of sex, and for the typical man...it takes little to no work.
For an older woman...she becomes more refine in what she wants. She wants a man who will take the time to please her, and do things that make her feel like a woman, and loved. This is too much work the typical man who just wants to stick it in, and hump like a rabbit.
So...find a man who is willing to please you with his pants on, before you take yours off. Make him work.

Younger girls are just a lot more attractive. Would you prefer smooth skin or wrinkled skin? The only difference is that older women have more experience.
