Is it hard to read the signs between general flirting (friendly) or I-fancy-you flirting (if you catch my drift on any of this). Is trying to wind you up/take the p***s out of you a friendly thing or a flirting thing?

reader, anonymous, writes (24 June 2006): Think back to your childhood days. The school boys always used to pick on the school girls they liked.
In alot of situations this 'winding up' could be read as flirting but you can never can be sure. Not knowing is 1/2 the fun.
Personally if I'm attracted to someone I'll go out of my way to 'pick on them' - its in my nature... I'm not looking for anything... I'm not single... But its all in harmless fun.
I'm a male - if was reading this behaviour as flirting & I interested & Single I would go about it in 1 of 3 ways.
1. Carry on & try and do a little bit of flirting yourself and see where it takes you.
2. Try & seal the deal. The good old invite him/her out for drinks with some mututal friends (if you have any?). Alcohol always seems to bring out those hidden attractions &/or feelings.
3. Tell the person out-right that your interested.

Well there are a few signs that a guy is flirting with you :o)
men tend to act like the average animal they will preen themselves, checking his hair out or adjusting his clothing etc, if sex is on his mind his hands won't be far from his genitals for example on his hips or in his pockets you know,his crotch display is always a dead give away to his attraction especially if he's sat down, so if he's sat with his legs apart facing you you can be pretty sure he's mentally undressed you already.. :o) happy flirting sweetie enjoy the attention.
