 If it is really such a difficult thing to tell him face to face then how about writing it down along with the reason and give it to him when you are heading different directions so that it puts the ball in his court. Leave it open to him whether he should call you or go have coffee with you to talk it over etc. Hope this gives you an idea. Doc
