Loving some one can be unconditional love for your family. You may love your friends i.e. you care about them deeply. Being 'in love' means you want to be romantically involved with another person. This involves a whole range of emotions which involves sexual attraction. If you are with someone you are 'in love' with then you usually can't stop thinking about them, sometimes you don't even realise you are thinking about them becasue they are constantly in your thoughts. Lust in a relationship is usually more common at the start of a relationship and tends to die down as the relationship builds. This is because people in love are more concerned about the emotional side of a relationship rather than the physical side. I hope this has answered any queries you had!

Hi
well to me loving someone is the way you would love your friend or your mother it's a platonic love when you care deeply for someone.
Being in love is those feelings but with lust thrown in just to confuse you more!
Being in love with some invloves a range of emotions some good and some not so good, to me it's the feeling that you don't want to be apart from this person.
After awhile I believe that the lust does fade but is still there, only not as strong because you become used to that person being there, but you can keep it alive you just need to work at it.
Hope that helps.

I've always taken 'in love' to mean you love somebody and want to be 'in' a relationship with them. You love your friends and family but wouldnt want a relationship with them, no?
I think the 'in' love feeling can last forever in a relationship because that is the basic premise of the relationship in a way although of course not everybody is in love when they first start dating.
