 I find "Tiger" works well, and I have nick-names of Big Bad Bear, or Bare Bear for my man (whichever happens to be appropriate at the time!!) which really suits him as he has hair the colour of a teddy bear...(and a bit of a 'belly' - which he is working on, lol)!
He loves that, as I made it up specially for him. You could make up your own, of course - just look at him and imagine what he reminds you of!
Otherwise, I usually call him hun, or love, darlin' - or sexy!
