reader, anonymous, writes (27 July 2011): oh it varies so much. I'm late 40s and I'm still certain for two times and often three times. I have come five times in the one "session" (over a few hours though) and done so several times. It just depends though on the feeling at the time. If I'm really turned on, I can stay hard or be hard again in just a few minutes and keep right on going. Other times, I'll have one big come and I'm done.
I don't think there's an answer to your question. All we can each do is share our experience.

I think you represent the extreme, although I can sympathise with Madalo...In times when I was away from my partner for a few weeks, it was a sex-a-thon when I got back. There have been times I had back to back orgasms with no "limp" in between, but usually the second orgasm took forever or never happened. Once or twice I made it to 3 orgasms without a wait. It was frankly not all that pleasurable because I had to concentrate too much...it was more of a "record night" to see who could cum more. So I will agree with Roshii in that mood and thoughts have a lot to do with it.

I'm 35 and have noticed no change in my refractory period or ability to have multiple orgasms since I first started having sex at 21. It is a situational thing, though.For example, if I've had sex on several consecutive days then it is likely I'll only be up for one orgasm in a sex session. After a few minutes of rest I can achieve an erection again, but it would be unlikely I'd climax a second time. If, however, I have gone a few days without sex then I can typically have two or even three orgasms in a short period of time. As recently as a few months ago I had three orgasms in about a two hour window. I usually only need maybe five minutes of rest after having an orgasm to get aroused again... although there are times that I simply don't go soft and can just continue on.For me there are a ton of variables to this. How horny I am, how long it has been since I've had sex, how attracted I am to the woman I'm with, how new the relationship is, how good she is in bed, what the chemistry is like, whether I've been drinking, etc. There are just so many factors.

Ok, so i was with my bf who is 25years old yesterday from around 10:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon. In those six hours we also had sex six times and he orgasmed in all those rounds. We are in a LDR so maybe we missed each other a lot. But when we werent in a LDR, it would be 3hours or more till he got an erection again.
But i think it also has to do with what is on the mind. If you tell yourself you want more sex and have sexual thoughts then you will get another erection sooner. If you're satisfied and think about something else other than sex, you wont get erect again quickly.
But generally i think an older man wouldnt have sex every hour.

 I have a conditional advantage of being hypersexual, so my "refractory period" varies alot on my mood, For instants i could be ready again moments afterward. continue from point of orgasm, or wait between 5 -10 minutes.
How many times i orgasm depends on how many times me and my partner have sex. We average roughly 3 times a day during the week day (when i have my daughter from a previous relationship) to an excess of 4 -7 times a day during the weekend.
One thing i know is mood plays a very big factor in this, more so with my hypersexuality. oh im 24.
