A reader, anonymous, writes (24 May 2009):

In the US it is illegal for a man of 20 to date a girl of 14 and if he were to sexually abuse you in any way even touch you inappropriately he could go to jail and be on a public list of sex offenders for the rest of his life.

He is not interested in you unless he is a criminal or a user and abuser of children. Do not concern yourself with whether or not he is attracted to you because if he is he lacks character and is sexually perverted. Grown mature psychologically stable men of 20 do not have an interest in dating or having sex with a girl of 14, no matter how developed you may be for your age.

Seriously, get your mind on something else and talk to your mom about this and ask her advice, be closer to your dad if you have one because what you may be missing is some attention and love from your father....this is pretty common in young girls who are distant from their father, they seek out attention from another older male and it is dangerous for you...because someone older who is not of good character knows what to say to emotionally manipulate you and take advantage of a young person...this is one of the reasons it is against the law for children of 14 to date adult men to protect you from predetors and your own lack of judgement.

Olivia(Y). agony auntA older man in his 20's shouldn't even be looking at a 14 year old girl!

Don't get yourself into that, go for an older boy in their teens.

My best friend is 15 and dated a 28 year old guy and has been abused by him. Don't let it happen to you.

He will pull you in with kindness, gifts etc. and when he thinks that you would do anything for him he will blackmail you into doing things.

He will go to prison for this. Please, i've seen how my friend is now and you don't ever want to be in that situation.

Good luck

Your too young for this kind of stuff!!

Your gonna screw up your life!

You young girls should be focusing on ur school work not dating older men!!

Stop.

Talk to your mom and see how she feels about this!

Stay Safe and away from sex
