A female reader, fi_the_tree United Kingdom +, writes (19 March 2011):

fi_the_tree agony auntGo and see your doctor. Take a sample of urine with you, you should be able to pick up a specimen jar at a chemist or your doctor surgery. It's best to collect a sample from the first wee you have in the morning.

Your doctor should be able to do a basic test there and then. You said you took something to delay your period last month, the fact that your period is late may have something to do with this. If the test at the doctor comes back negative then things should even themselves out fairly quickly if you normally have regular periods. Try not to worry too much, as stress can affect your cycle too.
