People are entitled to their opinions, irrespective of how you see yourself. Opinions vary, and you've no right to tell someone what they do or do not think, so just accept the compliment XD When they say you are handsome they are saying that they personally find you attractive and you can't really dispute that, it'd be like trying convince your dog licking himself is nasty, he'll enjoy it no matter what you personally think about the matter lol
I do think you could use some work on your self-esteem XD And not everyone who compliments you wants something. Strangers compliment me and way more often than not they are just being nice, stating their opinion and they want nothing in return.

It means when they look at you they find your face beautiful ... it means they want you ... it means you're really quite lucky, as being handsome is definitely useful, and definitely better than looking horrible. You have a head start. Believe what they say, and feel humbly grateful! : )
