Hey,

I'm 14, and i already have LOTS of pubic hair, which i hate.

I'm a swimmer, and i'm finding it hard to cope with shaving, and i dont feel ready to wax yet.

the hair spreads way past my knicker line.

Also, do men find lots of pubic hair unattractive or is it something to love and keep.

please help, xxx

girlfriend, I'm a good looking 26 year old male that has seen them hairy, shaved, waxed, trimmed, landing strip, etc. Keep your pubic hair, please just keep it. Shaving is going to be an inconvenience for you and it is a lot of upkeep. Men like to see a woman, not a little girl.

Stonemason agony auntSome men love to see lots of it. Worn with a bathing suit, you should probably trim it, however, landstrip-wise, etc. I can tell you that this is not a problem since you always have scissors or could always show some guy the door.

Why not try waxing? I don't know what you mean by not "being ready." That is far and away the best method of dealing with the problem, as long as you remember to exfoliate and moisturise regularly. I have masses of pubic hair, or at least I would if I didn't wax it. I hate it unless it is neat and tidy.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (23 March 2010):

I am a swimmer also, I hated shaving because of the obvious woes. I got a little electric trimmer. Its great because it doesn't cut the hairs down to the skin, there are a little there so its not crazy prickly but it knocks off the fluff and allows me to keep it clean and orderly.

I shave about ever week or two. Its just your typical battery operated rechargeable dry hair/mustache trimmer.

I can't use it in sensitive places, it nicks and creates a bloody mess. But it gets the bulk of the thick places. No waxing, no shaving, no itching for more than a day, do it right before you hop in the shower and when your all dry.

a whole lotta hair is not attractive. on girls OR guys. have you ever gone down and gotten a mouthful of pubes? not fun. and dangerous. I almost choked once..

keep it trimmed, keep it nice looking, be happy with your own body. you should be proud of how you decide to style your nether hair.

Men are people too. What they think about pubic hair is as varied as those people's feelings towards ice cream flavours

Sure there's a fashion for not having much. But lots of people don't follow the fashion of the moment yet still look stunning. Like all fashion, if you do what feels right for you, then you will have confidence and a smile and you'll look trumps.

Personally, I like to run my fingers through my girlfriend's pubic hair and I'd be disappointed if she got rid of it.

If you do swim seriously, then check out definition left by the crotch panels of your wet swimwear before shaving the lot. Some suits are better than others at not sticking to the shaved skin, as one woman who swims in our session found out (we laughed about it, but she wasn't a teenager and we weren't bitchy schoolkids).

Here' my stock answer to the daily pubic hair question:

Keep in mind the whole bald thing is just a current trend. If anyone is aghast at the sight of pubic hair he is probably pretty young and grew up on contemporary mainstream porn which features little to no hair. Biologically, pubic hair is a secondary sex characteristic. It is one of the features that distinguishes little girls from fertile females. That being the case, anyone who is turned off by it has been conditioned by popular sexual aesthetics. Besides, no one has ever said to a lady, "Hey, nice mons pubis!"

SirenaBlusera agony auntCan't you just use a depilatory cream?

You can't use those creams EVERYWHERE, but on your thighs, I'm sure it would work.

A male reader, C. Grant Canada +, writes (21 March 2010):

C. Grant agony auntI think you'll find most guys your age will reply that they want it trimmed if not gone. Regardless, you do want to appear decent whilst swimming, and decent doesn't include having hair showing. I'd never ask a girl to wax there, or even shave -- stubble and shaving rash are terribly unappealing. But do trim enough that nothing peeks out from your bathing suit.

In my opinion heaps of hair as you are describing is not very attractive. I think most guys feel that way. Keep it neat and tidy and its all good.
