A female United Kingdom age 13-15, anonymous writes:

heya

im 15 and this is a question about my periods.

basically i am REALLY hormonal. my moods are every where and i can be really happy one minute and the next im screaming at the top of my lungs. i know this is normal but im ruining my friendships and relationship with my boyfriend who i REALLY love. and i know its upsetting him because i accuse him of stuff and tell him i dont love him because theres no such thing etc. im ashamed to talk about it now.

but enough is enough. i want to be able to control this. before i say anything, i think about it and then say it if its okay. but when im angry, i think about it and think its okay...because im angry and dont care.

is there anything that can control my mood swings? or at least minimise it? because i cant take it anymore. i have tried stopping it myself but i honestly cant,.

please help

Ginalolabridga agony auntI have known many women who suffer from this and yes it can ruin your everyday life, a lot of my friends looked to their diet and started to introduce different foods that help enhance your moods, like Chamomile tea, great for soothing, your body may be depleted of iron at this time so make sure your eating plenty of meat, green veggies, fish, walnuts, apricots, etc: you might find it is trial and error till you find what makes you feel better, plus have you tried soya milk? it is lovely and is a good way of getting the b vitamins and omega 3+6 are in there too vital for good health.

If you find there are becoming unbearable you need to go speak with your doctor as she/he will know you better than i do and may know what will work best for you.
