But it's just his odd way of flirting (boys are weird, what do you expect?). He already told you he likes smaller girls - so he obviously has no problem with your height.

He's probably just sensitive about his own height at 5'9" himself. Height seems to bother most guys under about 5' 10-11" at least a little bit even if they don't get teased about it. Most guys want to be about 6'2" and they're at least a little bit jealous if they're anything less.
Most guys don't really think height in a girl is so attractive they way girls usually think it is in men. Most guys just don't think that much about it either way when they look at girls.

Don't worry about your height - I'm 31 and exactly same height as you and its never stopped me doign anything in my life! My last boyf was exactly one foot taller than me - he was 6'3 so I had to wear high heels every time we were out *L*
