When other strains die off (often due to ingesting some source of antibiotics - sometimes found in farm or ranch raised meats, etc - then the remaining strain grossly overtakes the colon, and begin to attack the colon and mucus membrane in there, resulting in bloody or mucus discharge.
Getting to be a more common condition today - unknown exactly why. Try brewers yeast, and acidophilus tablets (the key ingredient in yogurt- available at grocery stores and drug stores). Eat more fibrous foods.

Eat soft foods and see a urologist as soon as possible. 90% of the time it is hard stools and hemorroids.

There's alot of problems that could cause this, Hyper Active Bowel syndrom, an Intestinal infection, Stomach infection, It's common to have a bit of blood in bad cases of Diarrhea. Best option, whether you're sure of whether it's something to worry about or not, is to call a doctor right away.

The first question of concern is, is the blood a bright red or a very dark red?If the blood is dark red it could mean it is a serious problem and you need to get in to see a doctor immediately! It would mean that the blood is starting farther up in the digestive tract and would indicate any number of things like for example a bleeding ulcer. If the blood is a bright red it usually indicates it is coming from the lower colon indicating maybe something as minor as hemorrhoids. I say minor because it is not an immediate emergency and I know of many who have suffered with this condition for many years. In that case it can be helped by many of the over-the-counter medications.Hemorrhoids, also commonly known as pyles, are a swelling of the veins around the anus causing discomfort during bowel movments. They can even protrude outside the anus causing even further discomfort. You can buy suppositories although I am not sure what brands you have available to you. If you can find it Anusol is doctor recommended and is proven to reduce the swelling. If you can find cream or suppositories with hydrocortisone it is far better. If the hemorrhoids rupture you will have a show of blood and on the better side that means that the swelling subsides and the pressure is reduced relieving a measure of the pain.I have been told that if you want to relieve hemorrhoids naturally you can add a teaspoon of flax seed to a cup of tea. The flax seed has kind of a slimy texture to it and lubricates the digestive tract quite well. You drink the flax at least once a day.If you do decide to go to see a doctor, depending on the severity of them, he can simply freeze them off with a minimum of discomfort if they are minor. However, if you decide to wait till they are quite bad, you would probably have to go for surgery which is usually done on an outpatient basis. The only bad thing about the surgery is that you are usually down for three or four days before you can start getting back to normal activities.I hope this has eased your mind some. Doc.
