A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

Hi, I'm 13 years old and about three days ago i was searching through my parent's computer's search history. To my horror, I found that my father had been looking at porn. I went to google desktop to find that he had been looking at it since Aug of 2005 (and probably before that since thats when we got that computer), and the last date had been Jan. 20th. I'm really lost on what i should do, since people get divorced over stuff like this. should i tell my mom? should i tell my dad? what should i do???

A female reader, anonymous, writes (2 February 2007):

it seems horrible now but in fact as you get older porn is not so weird and your mum probably already knows. if the porn was just body parts or adult men and women having sex i wouldn`t stress and just let it be.

If it was a bit scarier than that, then ask dad and if there were kids your age or spookier things then it`s fine to tell your mom! Or ring a childline for their advice first. They won`t mind

Don't say anything, it's not your place or your business to. Respect their privacy.

It's people like you Ms. Anon below me who allow wars to happen. Even if it's the righteous thing to do, it doesn't always mean it's the correct thing to do. Many things, especially war can be avoided by doing something more tactful. If you go in there and start pointing fingers at everyone who you think are wrong, then you will no doubt cause quite a bit of stir. You say justice, I say premature.

As for 13-15 Ms Anon who posted the question, you can confront your dad if you want to. Tell him how you feel, etc, etc. Aside from that, I highly do not recommend you butt into their marriage. It's not quite in your place to do so at the time.

NO! don't tell your mom. Mommys and Daddys have their own things that they like to do. But hey every man looks at porn. Just let him watch what he wants to watch.

mellissa333 agony auntIm 110% positive your mom knows your dad looks at porn. It shocks you, cause knowing that your parents are sexually active that way, is well.... just nasty knowing. but I would just try to forget about it.

A female reader, melschatbox United States +, writes (24 January 2007):

melschatbox agony auntYeah, although you are taught very young that porn and sex is wrong (until you are married...with sex that is) lots of people view it occasionally. But, I agree with the other chatters, it's not your place to say anything. If it really bothers you, you can make a general statement about finding some inappropriate "material" in front of both of your parents. It won't be your fault for divulging what you've found and I'm sure they would handle it with each other.

Dont' worry...

CarrieMagdelene agony auntHey, that's quite a delima! :) I wouldn't really say anything directly to her. It's best left into your mother and father's business. If she finds out and isn't cool, you know that she wouldn't have been cool even if you told her. If she finds out and is cool, there wouldn't have been any problems if you did tell her. Bottom line, it's his and your mother's business. No harm to you! :) -Carrie

I wouldn't worry about it kiddo. It is normal for married men to look at porn. Your mom may or may not know, but that is something your parents deal with. He is not cheating on your mom by looking at porn. If it makes you feel better, it would be ok to talk to your dad about this. I wish my parents had been more open about sex with me.

A female reader, sexseahot United States +, writes (24 January 2007):

sexseahot agony auntI think it would be best to just leave well enough alone. It might not be a big deal to your mom. I am not quite sure on how their relationship is, but I'm sure if your mom had a problem with your dad looking at porn and found out, if she doesn't already know, she would let him know herself if she appreciates it or not that he does this.

Unless it is all his attention is on and that's all he does, you really have nothing to worry about.

Good Luck!! Hope this helps!
