reader, anonymous, writes (28 March 2011): hi...honestly, i wouldn't worry about it. back when i was your age, that was just about the last thing on my mind. to be honest, me and my friends were actually excited when we started getting pubic hair; if it was revealed that you didn't have any, then people kind of thought that was a little weird. but i guess times have changed since then. hahaa...anyways...like i said, i wouldn't worry about it. you're way too young to be thinking about doing any sexual-type stuff that involves a guy seeing/touching your lady parts; i know you're probably sick of hearing that, but it's the truth. also, as some of the other posters have said before me, don't let anybody push you into doing anything with your body that you don't want to/don't feel comfortable doing. also, if you do decide to go through with shaving, make sure you're really prepared, as it can be quite a hassle sometimes.  Until you get into a sexually active relationship and you're showing that area to someone else don't even worry about it. I didn't start bothering with mine until me and my boyfriend became sexually active.
Also, some guys prefer different things (My ex liked hair my current bf likes it shaved). However, don't let that decide what you do with your body. If you prefer one way to another they have to respect that. If you don't care what it's like then you can take into account what they like. :)

 At 13? No, I don't think you should shave it off. You can trim, keep it "short" ( makes life easier) But clean shaven shouldn't be a must at 13. You shouldn't even worry about this IMHO. If you want to shave pits and legs, I get it, no one wants to look like a yeti for summer, but WHO is going to see your crotch?
It's like saying all men should have hair. Well, duh some jsut don't have any ;) And honestly others just look better without.

 It's totally up to you whether or not you shave your pubic hair. Ask your mum to show you properly how to shave your legs and armpits, but if you don't want to shave down there then you can buy electric trimmers or creams to keep yourself neat and tidy.
Don't let your boyfriend push you into doing anything you don't want to do. It's your body so you choose what you do with it, no-one else!!!
