you have got to be kidding me? that last reply? what kind of person is that guy giving advice? that is ridiculous! just because a girl gets a piercing, doesn't make her a whore. it doesn't make her a bad person. it doesn't mean she's cheating. maybe she did it to impress him, maybe out of rebellion, maybe she thought it would be interesting. but assuming those god-awful things about her over a piercing is just judgmental and wrong! that's the same as assuming that because a person has piercings and tattoos that they worship the devil or do drug (both of which i have been accused of and neither are true. i have several piercings and i did them for myself, no one else. my nipples are pierced. it doesn't make me a whore. i got my tongue pierced, too. i used to have a bad habit of chewing on my guitar picks and it stopped when i had it done. guy, if you really wanna know why she did it, ask her!!! she's the only one who can really answer it for you, but don't assume anything like the shallow-minded "dr. feelgood" has suggested. make your own decision.

No, not at her age. When their still teens like that, they just wanna rebel and maybe fullfill their "bad streak". The total opposite applies when their over 25. If she gets er tits done or er clit pierced and thats the first you've heard of it, then RUN. But feel free to catch er cheating, call er a whore, or get one last "good one" before u split ... cause TRUST ME ITS OVER!!! She's already moved on. Just ask yourself, "Who does she need to impress? We're already together!" OUT.

its her body and her choice, though maybe a little consultation on her part might have been good. as a very pierced woman id be VERY angry if my bf told me what not to do. lots of people get piercings and genital piercings are becoming more popular, you dont need to worry!

just be gentle with her while its healing and dont worry about it.

A male reader, anonymous, writes (1 March 2008):

No, having their vagina pierces is definetly not something girls just do.

As for being worried? About what? Infection? That is really her problem isn't it? Are you worried about what it might do to you? Well, I presume it was not the vagina because if that is pierced she should be in hospital right now.

You probably mean the labia or something.

If you think it means she is cheating on you. The piercing itself means nothing. Young people often experiment and do crazy things. My mother bitched to my sister when she got a second hole in her ear, my grandmother probably told my mother of for getting her ears pierced at all and my sister will probably complain to her daughter about getting a nipple piercing.

Without more details we just can't say. Personally I think getting pierced in such a sensitive spot marks you as insane, but hey, different strokes and all.

But no, by itself I don't think it needs to mean you have to worry about your relationship. It might simply be she heard it improves sex or something and done it for theboth of you.

I can't even imagine how much that would hurt lol. But I think maybe she did this to turn you on, or even other guys... It all depends on how kinky you two are to be honest. If this is the kind of thing that you like, or if she's seen you watching porn with this sort of thing in, she might be thinking it'll turn you on. She might just have been trying something new? It could even have been a dare. But you'd think that this would get in the way or hurt during sex. It puzzles me no end why someone would do this to be honest. But hey, each to their own :]

Laura1318 agony auntBody piercing can cause infections when that part is moist and can be dangerous when there is an accident and some force is applied there.

It could just be a fad or the discomfort may cause them to take it off.

Some girls do it and it is a crazy thing.

A male reader, SamuraiRick United States +, writes (1 March 2008):

SamuraiRick agony auntYour girlfriend is a FREAK. If she got THAT pierced and she didn't tell you or ask your opinion, well then its something to be concerned about. When you get a piercing or tattoo there is a temptation to show it off...If you're think you're the only guy she will show this off to think again. You should dig deep and ask her why she was inspired to do this.

I could be wrong though and this was only done for your eyes only, and her own private pleasure. If that's truly the case, then its all good.

No its not a common thing girls do. Porn stars and strippers do this...and this is inspired by porn, where it all started. I'm not judging it, I think its cool and sexy, but for real....not all girls do this, and the few that do this I will unqualifyingly call FREAKS. I'm just surprised she can get such a piercing at her age....oh well, the world is changing.

Enjoy the piercing, dude...but never let her talk you into doing the same to your dick. Trust me, you don't wamt to go there!

A male reader, Jugurtha Australia +, writes (1 March 2008):

I'm not sure why you think you should be worried... unless you mean does your girlfriend's piercing mean she is likely to be promiscuous? And to that, it all depends on what sort of a person she is and the values she carries.

The piercing in and of itself means nothing, it's just a decoration that may or may not give her added feeling when she's making love.

The hassle for you (and her) my friend is no sex until it is healed, and that can take up to 3 months. There is potentially the danger of an infection as well, but common-sense hygene should negate that as a worry.

A reader, anonymous, writes (1 March 2008):

I've actually thought of doing this myself, but I'm a slow healer and all...Hm. Anyway, it could be that she's interested in pleasuring you by the sight of it. Or it could be a way to announce her womanly crotch region (she may be saying she's proud to be a woman)...but the only real way is to ask her. :) Perhaps you could ask her why she did it.

A reader, anonymous, writes (1 March 2008):

Well I don't see how she could get a hole pierced. Now if you mean, her clit, or her labia, w/e. I don't think you should be worried if the person who pierced it is a professional. But I wouldn't have sex for a few weeks to a month to see if she has any adverse affects so that way you can know if something is wrong with her or not, instead of both you finding out together that something is wrong with both of you because you continued having sex.
