A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

Well basically...

I am a 15 year old girl.

More or less daily i get some type of discharge flowing from my vagina. It is white and creamy.

I have been getting it for quite sometime now, although i have not started my period. and the other day the discharge was browny/redish colour. (im guessing thats a sign of my period starting soon..) but i am just unsure of the white discharge. what is it? should i be worried? is it serious? or is it just natural? does everyone get it??

Advice Appreciated.. :D

xx

just_a_girl_28 agony auntI'm 15 as well and was wondering this for a while too. Until I had a talk with two of my really close older friends, they told me what it was. It is perfectly normal and I guess it happens about two weeks before your period. I really can't say much more than that since I don't really remember everything they told me. Just know it's normal and it happens to every girl

Also, you can google it for any further information.

(After all, GOOGLE is the answer for like every question out there)

and of course mom is always there to answer anything too (:

niki20 agony auntits natural, what you have to worry about is if it is a yellowish color, or if you smelly funny or it and burn down there, that is a sign of yeast infection. white discharge is normal. the redish/brownish discharge is a sign it will be starting. your perfectly normal and healthy.

A female reader, anonymous, writes (12 June 2009):

It's TOTALLY natural. You're probably close to starting your period. Your discharge changes throughout your cycle. Sometimes its nothing, sometimes it's tons, sometimes its white, sometimes its yellow, sometimes it'll be really gooey, it just depends what's going on with your. The scent will change too.

One thing that help with vaginal "excretion" is acidophiles which you can get as a supplement from the grocery store but it's also found in yogurt. I've always noticed my own discharge is much cleaner and regulated when I'm taking it.

Smellyellie agony auntYes this discharge is very normal and every girl gets it. What you are describing it as sounds what it should be too but if that ever changes then you should see a doctor especially if it has a really strong smell to it or it goes a sort if yellow colour.

A girl produces discharge to basically clean there private area and prevent any infections from happening..

The red- brown discharge also is a sign that you are probably going to start your period soon but then again it could take as long as your body wants to take .. All I have to say is be prepared!!
