A female reader, michelleAKAmandi United States +, writes (3 October 2008):

michelleAKAmandi agony auntHey there,

If you mean she's saying things that are not true about herself and such, then she's possibly hiding and pretending to be someone she'd like to be and isn't.

If she is saying things that don't seem to be something that would come from her, then maybe it IS her and things she likes that you haven't realized.

Chat rooms can be fun because you don't have to show your true self or they can be fun because it's easier to chat/talk there more often with a busy life. So it's all in why she is doing it. If you think she is having sweet talk with someone on the net, ask her about it.

I'm not able to answer how you can make her see that you would like decisions to be made together, because I'm not sure what decisions you are speaking of. You can always just tell her... talk about it with her.

Do you feel she is not acting as a couple? Making decisions on her own as a single person would, without consulting you about things?

Michelle
