 There are bajillion sexy sex ideas on BDSM forums and as EWO pointed out, there's alway 50 shades of grey as an idea book. What websites does he look at? Take a look at those.
If he's the dominant type, isn't your role to be submissive and not try to direct things? Why not continue to allow him that role.
Get a safe word and use it if necessary. Again, there are lots of resources out there for you. You probably won't get many specific tips here, as everyone's taste are individual.

 Read books or search the internet for idea's but bare in mind that each person is different as chigirl said. There's not just one way of doing things. You can do a lot of different things and watch how your partner responds to the things that you do. It's always good to take note of your partners reaction. So I say do your research and see what he likes. You say that he normally dominates, why not surprise him by taking over for a change while you experiment with him. All the best.
