There are two good ways of conquering fear: living life on the edge, and being part of a good team. Go racing or something. Apply for a crazy job. Who knows?
Also, reassurance is huge. You must feel desired to have self-esteem. You can't just expect the mirror thing to do all your wonders. You need to notice when people throw you compliments, or when you do something most people can't do.

THis might sound stupid and silly, but believe me it worked for many others; please do try it; you have nothing to loose, only lots to gain.
Stand in front of the mirror, look at yourself and tell yourself how much you love yourself; talk to yourself, tell yourself what you want to achieve this particular day and about your dreams and plans for the future.
Try it, it works!

talk to someone about your past problems, maybe you have been used to living the way you did for too long, and it could be very hard to break the habit, but theres always a way, and im sure you will find the answer. great that you have decided to better yourself whatever the problems were, but maybe you need a little help. x
