writes:Hi everyone! We're all here to seek and give advice about our lives getting a little scary, confusing or just to share a few words.I thought I'd mention the importance of prayer: it's important, it helps you focus and it could save your life.Whatever your creed may be, in a past visit to the visionaries of Medjugorjie, the Virgin Mary said something on these lines:you people divide yourselves on Earth, but in God's eyes you're all His children, He loves you all and as a father He holds each and every one of you accountable for your actions. Our Holy Mother has been giving messages through the visionaries of Medjugorjie every month for the past 20 years, they have been given secrets to unveil when the time is right and she keeps urging us to pray for ourselves and each other, to love and respect our neighbour.Did you know all this was going on?I knew nothing about all this until I got married, when my father suggested Steve and I go to Medjugorjie as part of our honeymoon. I was eluctant to spend any of my first 2 weeks of married life on pilgrimage to some place in Bisnia I had never heard of. Actually, I also wasn't so sure about these people telling the truth about seeing the Virgin Mary! But Steve found us cheap tickets from Rome to Split and agreed that 3 days out of 2 weeks wouldn't be so bad. How we actually got from Split to Medjugorjie is more down to miraculous shoving onto a Korean organised pilgrimage than actual planning. We arrived at midnight, therefore settled with the only room unbooked by the Koreans who had given us the lift. It meant separate boxed beds, silly plambing in the en-suit shower and... Well, that was it really, because breakfast was lovely and the whole thing very cheap! Medjugorjie is overwhealmingly relaxing, small, but lovely. Food's great! There's a big church in the middle with a qiet area behind it, where people go to pray. There's a huge statue of the risen Christ... Which I won't tell you about, because you really need to see it to appreciate the myracle!Any of the Muslim taxi drivers will happily take you to visit Vicka's house, early in the morning, where she stands on her porch talking to everyone there about her daily visits from the Mother of Jesus. Seeing her face when she speaks, you can tell she's not lying. She's a wife and mother to several children, so being crazy is out of the question! She makes no money from talking to people, she just prays for anyone who asks.In fact, Medjugorjie is a very poor village, but maybe that's God's way, He tends to choose the poor and afflicted, because they are always ready to give up more.I urge you to look up the visionaries of Medjugorjie, read the messages they've shared with us since their childhood and why not, book a short holiday to their little town. The beer is particularly cheap!! Whether you believe or not may not be the point, because it is just an opportunity to hear God's voice, should He exist. If He's really our eternal father, why not look for Him? If you end up with nothing more than a relaxing time up on the Bosnian hills, well, you'll have lost nothing!Personally, Steve and I have gained a great start to marriage, reassurance that there's more to life than most people see and we can't wait to take our little girl there. Next time hopefully it won't rain as much and we'll have the courage to climb 'apparition hill', which was too muddy in October... Although it didn't seem to stop the elderly!God bless us all and don't forget: pray, pray pray!
