Dear little sister,

I am so lucky to have you as my best friend. I can't imagine my childhood without you. We did everything together from studying, to playing together, to even sharing the room.

You were the naughty one, and I was the quiet one, yet we got along so well. We did so many naughty things together! I cannot imagine life without you. I am so grateful to have you.

I love you little sister.

Love Always,

What a nice thing to do and say. But I don't think you realize it, you've already written a beautiful card already.

I think your second and third paragraphs are perfect for the card. Just change it to you, I, and we, and come up with a good synonym for the second "naughty". "You are my younger sister and my best friend. I can't......" I would love to get a card like that from my sister.

You might be a poet, and just not know it.

Hope this helps

Good luck.

A female reader, Anonymous 123 Italy +, writes (29 September 2016):

Anonymous 123 agony auntThis is not something that strangers on the internet can help you with, this is something intensely personal and should come from your heart.

This is your sister you're talking about...you shared your childhood, your growing up years, laughter, tears, joy and a million memories with her that only you can feel and express. We know nothing about your life and experiences with her and it isn't even right to advise you on something so personal. Don't worry about sounding good and proper...that's the best thing about family...you can be yourself and they'll never ever be judgmental of you.

If English isn't your first language and you feel you cant express yourself the way you want, then write her a letter in your native language. But whatever you do, don't rely on others to make your letter sound like a Hallmark card! If sweet-sounding words is what you want, you'll get it in spades in any card that you open; however, they will never be personal.

Rely on your memories and write from YOUR heart. It'll be the best letter that you'll ever write.

Andie's Thoughts agony auntHonestly, write the way you have here. It needs to come from you. It's a lovely idea and you just need to think about what you'd like to tell her and write it down :)
