I've been with my boyfriend for a year and a half now and we met in England. But my visa ran out so i had to come back home, he said he would come with me once he got his visa. Just before i left he proposed to me. It's been a month and a half since i left. He would call and text me everyday. Then the other day i tried to call him but got through to his brother who said he's gonn to amsterdam so i tried calling him on his mobile he answered then when he heard it was me he hung up and i haven't been able to get through to him ever since. I called his brother and asked him if he knew what was going on but he couldn't understand why he would hang up on me and that it makes no sense. I have no idea what to do or what to think right now. Help!!!

I hope all these wonderful answers from folks will ease your nerves! In my experience, cell phones are always having technical problems, and country to country, it could be anything! Pamper yourself, and visit a good friend, and start looking for the most beautiful wedding dress on earth!

willywombat agony auntDepending on which telephone service provider he is with he may not be able to recieve calls as in some countries it costs money not only to make the call but also to recieve it (major rip off I know!).

But I would have thought he would have been able to get to a public phone box to at leats call you back at some point.

Please keep us updated.

Good luck.

Reebe agony auntI don't think he meant to hang up on you. Usually with a mobile the caller ID shows so if he didn't want to speak to you he wouldn't of answered. Wait a few days I'm sure he'll get in touch and you will wonder what you were so worried about!

rammsteinfan agony auntI think that you have nothing to worry about....it sounds to me like a dropped call. I don't think he hung up on you. He wouldn't have proposed to you in the first place and hang up on you when you called.

Just wait and see if he calls you back!

Luck and Hugs

A female reader, anonymous, writes (10 January 2007):

First, how do you know that he purposely hung up on you? Could it be that you got disconnected accidently?

It sounds as if he has not tried to call you. You have apparently tried several times without success. Do you have any idea when he will be back in England?

If you do know when, you could try him there ONCE MORE. If you do not get through, then perhaps you should assume you are not going to hear from him again.

I know it stinks to be left with such uncertainty, but for right now, the best thing to do is --- NOTHING. Wait for a while and see if he calls you. Then, as I said, try him one more time when you know he is back in England, and see what happens.
