It doesn't hurt inside, only the outside. What could cause this? its always been this way.

reader, anonymous, writes (19 September 2008): sounds like a yeast infection coming on. sometimes irritation causes them. if it gets worse buy some cream or start taking acidopholis pills. I have had them from tampons before and antibiotics.

reader, anonymous, writes (19 September 2008): But your hymen isn't on the outside.. so it couldn't really be your hymen that's hurting. What does the pain feel like? You might just be acting a bit rough on yourself for your liking. Are you sure you're wet enough? Try lubrication, that might help.

Maybe try just stimulating your clitoris instead of putting fingers inside yourself. My girlfriend had a similar problem before she lost her virginity.
Once you break your hymen (which is likely to hurt a little) the pain shouldn't persist.

It could be possible that you've been doing it a little to much, or make sure you don't go to deep. Try to slow down and take time instead of putting yourself through pain. Make sure your nails are clipped.

 the hymen is a very sensitive but flexible thin membrane that partly covers the entrance to the vagina in virgins.. perhaps you are accidently scratching it or irritating it somehow when you finger yourself?.. or perhaps you might have thrush which is a common yeast infection that effects women at some point in their lives.. you say its always been that way?.. so maybe it would be a good idea to go check it out.. :)
