Im not a professional but I will try to give some advice.
First all women have a "scent" and no two women have the same smell, some are more stronger than others.
Second, If the smell is really bad and or she has more discharge than normal she may need to see a doctor. The smell may be due to an infection.

 It depends on the smell. ANY vagina has its personal odor and you should get used to it. It's natural.
Does she have a proper hygiene ?
Also, it's unnatural to smell like fish or rotten or cheesy smell. It means she's got an infection and needs to seek medical help. My boyfriend loves my smell and taste, he finds them interesting.

Is this a new scent? something that wasn't there before? and I know this is personal, but considering the question, it applies. what kind of scent is it? if it is very foul she may have a problem that needs a doctor. could be a bacteria or std, but could be something as simple as hormones, diet, or maybe just her natual scent.

reader, anonymous, writes (18 February 2011): It isn't her that smells, but rather what the naturally occurring bacteria do to her juices which cause her to smell. She can at least minimize, even prevent this, by using a deodorant soap, like Dial, etc. when she showers.
She does not have to use it everywhere, just in her crotch.
As you get older, you may find you enjoy this fragrance.
