A male United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have been loving a guy for a few years now ( at least 2), he's one of my closest friends and he identifies as straight.. He flirts and stuff but he never says that he is even curious about guys. Well we was talking the other night on the phone, I was really tired but he thought I was drunk and he told me that he had dreamt that he and I had kissed,Im not sure how to process this information to be frank and it's annoying me, Is this something to do with his subconscience? Like what does it mean?

A reader, anonymous, writes (16 May 2012):

The thing is I know nothing will happen, tbh I don't really want anything to happen because hes the mate that will always be there and has for the like the last 5 years.

The only reason why I think/thought this meant something is because the only times he says or does stuff like this is if he thinks I've been drinking or when it's just us.

(I forgot the code to the question so I made an account quick)

Thank you for the responses though :)

Shadow Rose agony auntI think he may just have been concerned that this meant something.

Or if he does like guys, maybe he made it up to see your reaction. But from the information you've given, I highly doubt this.

Most likely, he was wierded out by his dream and had to tell you.

Dreams are weird. I once dreampt I was dating my friends brother, who was creepy and pretty much a pedophile creeper. Eew.

Doesn't mean I like him or anything. Means I was talking about him today probably, so my mind decided to fit the memories of the day in that way.

A male reader, no nonsense Aidan United Kingdom +, writes (14 May 2012):

There’s always a danger of reading too much in to dreams. True, some people say that it’s all to do with your subconscious.

Then again, sometimes people dream such random things that it’s hard to believe that there’s any connection with their subconscious minds. Personally, I don’t believe that you can read anything in to dreams. Maybe if he thought you were drunk he just told you because he wanted to get it off his chest and thought you wouldn’t really take it in.

I think you need to keep in mind the points you’ve made about this guy: he isn’t curious, and he’s straight. That’s the important information to remember.

A strange dream doesn’t change that. You should only presume different if he tells you differently, or his behaviour shows otherwise.

I wish you all the very best.

person12345 agony auntI wouldn't read too much into it. It's highly unlikely it means he likes you. I'm sure he just thought it was strange and mentioned it, not realizing it would be significant to you.

Wisdom agony auntcould just mean that he had a dream that he kissed you...

Try not to read too much into it and justput it out of your mind unless he brings something else up.
