My boyfriend may already have a child, I'm so confused.

So I am falling apart and I want to be as strong as i know i can be. My heart fell in love with my 26 year old boyfriend 8 months ago. He had no kids and seemed like he would fit very well into my life. So we started hanging out after talking online for 8 months. Now we all of a sudden found out he MAY have a kid. This lil girl is only 3 and if it is his he is fighting for custody. That is awsome and I think he should. Although I am only 20 and I am really scared to commit myself to that type of relationship. He is paying my ring of so we can get married but Im lost on how to handle all this. I am just a mess and have really bad anxiety because 3 years ago I was in a life changing car accident. So i have not even hit 21 havent had my months of drinking and partying. Wich is fine with me but im SCARED so bad I dont know what to do please tell me your opinion. I need help and I know alot of these answers may hurt but I want to do this I love this boy with all of my heart and never dont want him with me.
