 My guess is variety. He wants to try different things. Also, being a man, two things comes in my mind. The first is that it is safer in the isks of pregnancy. The other is that he gets a thrill out of being able to witness his sexuality (something he can not see when it is inside). On the face, mouth, hands, etc...is giving him his need for variety.
