willywombat agony auntHow about go for something to eat first, then you can see if the converstaion goes anywhere or you ahve any 'chemistry'. Then onto the pictures? This can serve two purposes you see. If the converstation/chemistry is crappy you don't have to talk or even make eye contact. If it was great you get to hold her hand in the scary bits and you may cop a snog when it all goes dark?

Cinema's are a defo NO NO for a first date, OK?

You want to go somewhere where you can at least have a proper conversation with your potential sweetie. Get to know her a little, find out what she thinks about things.

Maybe you could suggest a couple of things to do and see what she likes the most? Is Pizza Hut good for teenagers to go? Not too overboard and not too expensive?

If a girl took me to Pizza Hut and paid for me to have one of those unlimited trips to the ice-cream machine I'd marry her the next day, mmm, ice cream. :)

cd206 agony auntI've always thought the cinema kinda sucks as a first date because you don't get the chance to talk. I know that's kind of why you're thinking of it because you don't want it to be awkward if you don't get along but it needn't be. If you insist on the cinema idea maybe go out for icecream after or something or if you decide to do something else.... go out for dinner or to the park or whatever think of some stuff you can say in awkward silences before you go so you won't be so anxious.

One of the funnest first dates I ever had was when my friend (was a serious boyfriend later) just took me on a walk around our college town (during the day) and we sort of investigated the place and had a beer and some snacks but mostly just wandered around and he acted like a complete goof and I knew I was hooked....my point is not to act like a goof but do something sort of aimless and let the day unfold as it will and talk a lot to her and let her see your funny and vulnerable side, she will be amazed at how fun you are and how confident you were not to do the same old thing to try an impress her, but just spend a lot of time with her that day.

hey!! it sounds like u guys really like eachother, maybe just as friends at the moment, but u can always give it a chance to see where it goes!!

Anyways, as a girl, a first sortof date to the cinema is always a little akward for me anyways. It raises all the questions of how do we sit? Touch or no touch? will he try to pull me? blah blah blah... and it doesnt give you the chance to talk and get to know eachother. Thats just how I feel. I would say, meet up for a coffee at a local cafe? Or since its winter, go ice skating if theres somewhere local? Or you can go to the mall, say you need a new ...whatver and and would like some input!! Other thatn that theres always dinner or, more casual, lunch somewhere? Just some ideas, hope this helps, good luck!!!
