I'll tell exactly what to do at the age of 19. And that is to quit treating each decision like it is a do or die problem and just kind of do what you want. If when the other guy gets out you decide you like him better handle that when it happens. As long as you don't lie and jerk people around. That is the one thing you do owe to them ..but you owe that to everybody.

I concur with the other Aunts. This really is a no brainer...dump the jail bird bf who was stupid enough to get himself in jail, in the first place and go for the new guy. If the new guy has his own house and a good job, he will expect the same ambitions and life values from you. So I have to ask..do you have your own job and your own place to live, as well? Or are you educating yourself? Make sure that any new relationhip you go into, that you are empowered or doing something that empowering, your life and future. I only say that, because sometimes females go for a errant guy like the loser jailbird because they don't feel they are worthy of someone better. I sure as heck hope, this isn't you, dear. Just make sure he treats you well and tretas you with respect. Good luck and take care of yourself.

Hi,
the jailbird boyfriend is hardly the catch of the day is he?
Go with the new guy, give the old boyfriend the heaveho.

If you like the new guy date him. You own the guy in jail nothing - not even an explanation after all - he left you and now he is inside.
The age gap will not be a problem unless either of you see it as one.
