If he was somewhat aggressive (sucking too hard, biting, or spending too long in one place), it may be sensitive or even mildly painful for a while.
If it goes away after 24 hours or so, no worries, just tell him to ease up a bit. Practice makes perfect. If the pain doesn't go away, or if it gets worse, make an appointment to see a doctor right away.

 A load of my friends, after having sex for the first time/ with a new partner ended up getting a 'water infection' which isn't serious, but it hurts when you pee. It's easily cleared up with some antibiotics from the doctor or sometimes it tends to go away on its own.
I know you didnt have full sex, but if you had your genitals close or something, that may be what caused it. I wouldn't worry, just take a trip to the doctors!
