Is this a transition or am I falling out of love?

A female United Kingdom age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I don't really know if I love my bf anymore. We've been together for a year and a bit and I know I want to be with him but it just doesn't feel like it used to. I don't look at him adoringly and think 'God you're beautiful I'm so lucky to be with you' anymore, I just feel I love him as if he's a family member and he's a part of me and part of my life. Is this just a normal transition that happens when a relationship becomes long-term or am I really just falling out of love with him?

lexilou agony auntOf course the love fades a bit but it is up to you both to bring the spark back and put some excitment into your lives. Decide if you want to make this work and inject some fun back into it x

hey, bearing in mind you have been with him for a year, i'm thinking maybe the excitement has gone? It's not that you don't care for him anymore, but maybe you miss the first feelings and the way you felt when you first got together with him (the butterflies etc) it may sound a bit cheesy, but you know when you have met the person you want to be with forever when you still get the butterflies after 10 years! You're still young, so don't panic too much, but with whatever you decide you feel, and with whatever you decide to do, good luck x
