A female United Kingdom age 26-29, anonymous writes:

I have been with my partner for four years since I was 16; we met in college and now he is university and I work full time.

The past year we have both had our problems with families, mine has been awful and he is the light in all of it and what makes me happy.

The thing is our relationship isn’t what it used to be, we only see each other on weekends now and when we do we barely do anything unless I plan it, we have no sex life compared to when we used to all the time, I just don’t enjoy it anymore and when I tried to communicate it with him he said it got to the point where it was too much effort to turn me on, but it was just never passionate.

We never kiss or anything, he has never been a big kisser.

He goes out once a week with a mate to the pub and as much as I ask I am never invited.

But when I ask him to come out with me and my friends he never wants to.

Last night I decided to try talk to him and he said he was struggling with his personal problems making him unable to commit to me and he doesn’t know what he wants from life anymore.

I get where he is coming from where at an awkward age where things get tough and his mum left home which is his problem he is really hurt by it, but shouldn’t I be what makes him happy?

He won’t even talk about is getting a place together saying he cant leave his dad now his mum did.

We have a holiday in a few weeks and last night he was just saying he understands if I don’t want to be with him.

I love him so much but is it selfish I want more? Like I am so sick today and I don’t even have him here to look after me. I sometimes feel like I am not even in a relationship anymore, how do I save it?
