 Yes, it's normal. And keep in mind that what is coming out of you isn't blood per se, but menstrual fluid, the lining that was prepared on the uterus for that elusive fertilized egg, sloughing off because it wasn't needed. So you're not really bleeding, if that makes sense.
Think of your period as your body's way of keeping your insides clean and healthy. I know that it's hard to believe when the menstrual fluid looks kinda yucky, but it's perfectly normal.
