A female United States age 18-21, anonymous writes:

i was talking to "jim", one of the guys i went to high school with on aim one night. he is friends with "john" who i also went to hgh school with. before "jim" signed off, he gave me "john"'s screenname even though i never asked for it so that i could talk to "john" if i wanted to sometime. the thing is i am interested in "john" and would like to be more than friends, however he doesn't know it. is there a possibility that "jim" is trying to set me up with "john" or should it just be considered as wanting to have a friendship?

Stroller agony auntWell, whether intentionally or not, Jim is definitely giving you an opportunity with John. You're asking us if Jim has inside knowledge of how John rates you? Jim's the guy to ask! Meantime, message John & get flirty, girl!

Sweety Pie agony auntIn my experience if a friend gives you someones msn they are usually trying to set you up, however this may not be the case! But the good news is now you have his msn so you can talk to him and maybe eventually start going out! Just make sure you meet him in person to see what hes realy like, with your friends around oviously. Good luck xx
