Talk to John and ask him. "Is your friend trying to set us up?"

Well, whether intentionally or not, Jim is definitely giving you an opportunity with John. You're asking us if Jim has inside knowledge of how John rates you? Jim's the guy to ask! Meantime, message John & get flirty, girl!

In my experience if a friend gives you someones msn they are usually trying to set you up, however this may not be the case! But the good news is now you have his msn so you can talk to him and maybe eventually start going out! Just make sure you meet him in person to see what hes realy like, with your friends around oviously. Good luck xx
