When I used to study maths he was sat next to me and he would often put his hand on my leg and sometimes rub it. Other times he would take hold of my hand. He did this with a (cheeky) smile.  meet up with him outside school for some activity, maybe swimming (bit of nudity never hurts) or a cinema (easier to reduce inhibitions in the dark). in a cinema when he holds your hand, squeeze it back and look into his eyes, his reaction will let you now where to go from there.
