A female United States age 30-35, anonymous writes:

I have this really cute co-worker who i think might like me but I just don't know if I'm reading to much into things. we work in retail so we are in the same building but different areas. I started to notice that he often comes over into my area for no reason at all, like he will come over and pick something off the floor or straighten something out that i just finished fixing.

And we dropped the deposit off one morning and he was innocently making fun of things i say and the giggle i have. He wasnt able to open the box with his key so we had to go back to the store and get another one, when we walked back down he realized that he had the right key but he was turning the key in the wrong direction(i thought it was odd though because he has obviously done the deposit before, he does them all the time) But when we were going down the escalators i thought it was weird that he was on the same step as me(i feel like most people give space). but that whole time we were walking and when we stopped to get something to drink he was really close to me, more so than normal.

And a lot of the time when he walks by me at work he seems a little to happy(which wouldnt be that weird if it wasnt like every 15 mintues). He is nice to everyone, he is a very happy guy, but i feel like sometimes he is a little bit more energetic towards me than anyone else.

The only thing that is making me think he is just being friendly is that whenever we make eye contact he wont hold it with me, and also when we are talking at work his body isnt facing me and he has his arms crossed.

I just dont know how i feel about things because it is at work, but i want to know if this all adds up because i dont want to be really nice back and give him the wrong impression. but also if he is just being friendly i dont want him to think im closed off if im not as nice anymore.

I guess i really just need someone elses opinion on the situation to see if im over looking something...

Can't you have lunch together a few times, perhaps with other co-workers in a group ?

I think that he could possibly be interested. It seems like he feels comfortable around you but doesnt feel comfortable pursuing you at work because of how you feel about the situation or how someone else at work will react. I would say to just be yourself and see where things go.

tennisstar88 agony auntI think you're overanalyzing his every move. From your post I don't get anything that jumps out and says he's into you, just sounds like he's being goofy. If you want to take it further than just co-workers why don't you ask him to hang out after work? Go have a drink if you're of age or go grab a bite to eat. That way you have a chance to talk to him and find out his story.
