Is my boyfriend backing off?

Question - (15 December 2009) 1 Answers - (Newest, 15 December 2009)
A female United Kingdom age 36-40, anonymous writes:

I'm so confused that I really don't know where to start.

Basically my boyfriend's best friend came on to me around a month ago, he got quite pushy but I turned him down repeatedly even though I am a woman and i'm not blind, he is a good looking guy. It happened via IM and when I told my best friend, who was seeing the guy at the time, he showed her and my boyfriend our IM conversation and made out like i'd reciprocated somehow and that he felt uncomfortable around me now. We haven't spoken since. Things with my boyfriend and I were fine after we talked it over but shortly after we broke up.

We got back together after a few weeks and things were fine at first but now he's treating me more like a friend than a girlfriend. He's very close with my best friend and even though I don't speak to his best friend anymore, why I have no idea, we're both adults I don't know why he can't get over what happened, i've never stopped them being friends. His mom even referred to me as her future daughter in law and my best friend is always saying i'm 'that girl' to him but is him treating me more like a friend a bad thing? it feels like he's going off me and I don't know what to do.

Talk to him about it.

There's no magic advice we can give you to make this better.

Sit him down, just the two of you, and tell him how you feel he's pushing you away.

It could well be that he's feeling a lot of pressure since you've just got back together and everyone has decided you must now get married.

Good Luck!! xx
