I do have a lot of experimenting ahead of me where it comes to foreplay for HIM as thats the only thing we haven't really done yet, due to my lack of confidence. Either 'method' will be just fine by him, and let's face it, unless he's wearing a condom there'll still be the same amount of mess. It'll either fly over your shoulder and you'll have to go looking for it, or it'll end up dripping out of you. Why not do it one way on one occasion and the other way the next time? Of course, there are other ways too - for instance, laying on your back with him kneeling over you. What you might call a 'tit wank'. A 'soapy tit wank' in the shower is good too, if you can both get in the cubicle while you're on your knees!
You don't need very much lube anyway - a blob no bigger than a hazelnut will be more than enough - probably too much, in fact.
