writes:I was having a lighthearted chat with my boyfriend this morning about first-time sex. I'm a virgin, he's not, and after almost a year together we're planning to go through with it soon. So we were talking about condoms etc. and to cut a long story short, it came to a point where he told me that with his previous girlfried, sometimes they'd often had sex 4 or 5 times in *one* night. I was kinda surprised, I mean, I didn't think it was physically possible to do it more than once, maybe twice, in such a short space of time! Can it be true? And if so, is that usual or does he have a higher sex drive than most? Thanks a lot for any insight :) x

He might be bragging a little bit, but not by much. Some guys in their late teens or early twenties can re-charge and go again 4 or 5 times in one session.
Being the first time, with a partner you really care for, can affect the performance. My wife and I were wedding-night virgins at 23 and we did it 5 times in the first 24 hours of marriage. (I probably could have done more, but we had some honeymoon travel schedules to keep.) For most of our first year we typically made love twice a day, and occasionally our main morning sessions included full intercourse twice. I think our record, in our late 20's after being apart for two weeks, was 6 or 7 times in one night - and she went to the doctor complaining of a chafed and sore vagina the next day.

 It is more than possible as everyone has already proved. But it does depend on the male. His diet, fitness etc plays a huge role in all that. My ex would manage 4-5 times a WEEK if I was lucky because he had a poor diet and rarely exercised. My current boyfriend has a very good diet and is always working out. I think 9 is his record so far. For one night.
So yes it is possible for some guys. But don't feel you need to have sex 4-5 times a night to make him happy. Take it slow if it makes you more comfortable. Work your way up to the crazy stuff :P

I'm almost 43 now and go almost every day and sometimes 4 or 5 times in one 12 hour span if the mood is right. I take longer to recover than when I was in my teens or twenties, and sometimes require more physical contact to get aroused again. But at your age, many guys can go almost non stop.

 Stamina, nothing else. It's not to do with sex drive really, sex drive is how often, say during a month, you are interested in sex. If you are interested in sex once a month, but during that one time have sex 5 times, you still have a "low" sex drive. You just have good stamina. Just because he can go on and on like a Duracell rabbit doesn't mean he wants to every day.
Be careful about asking things about his past sex life. Things purely related to him, sure, but you absolutely do not want to hear details about her. I mean you don't want to try and imagine them together, or hear him describe it as if it was a porn. That sort of stuff can make the most secure and confident woman feel nauseous.
But back to your question: yes. Some men can, some times, go for any number of times, often all they need is a recover period. I had an ex who just needed 10-20 minutes of rest after one round before he was ready for round two. Round two he'd last longer as well, so we used to get the first one out fast, and then take our good time with the second. And then after some more rest, if we still felt like it, we'd have another round. It just takes up a lot of energy. And it needs you to be well lubricated.

He could have a higher sex drive but then again sounds like he and his ex had good compatibility too :)

 To put it bluntly. Yes it can happen :) For me it only happens when my boyfriend is rather drunk- but the sex drive of males and females varies from day to day as you probably already knew :) It can hurt after a while to warn you, so just try once or twice for the first few times, when you hit the four/five you know it was worth the wait :)
