 It's normal. Traditionally it's not something that "ladies" talk about or admit to. It's not "refined" and "ladylike" if you believe such old fashioned nonsense!
I think it goes right back to the days when English Victorian ladies (and no doubt those in America too) weren't supposed to have any sexual urges at all. It wasn't "proper" to enjoy anything sexual:
"My dear, how can you bear to allow your husband to do such things?"
"I just lie back, open my legs, and think of England..."
Absolutely seriously: it's normal. It's healthy. Do it as often as you want to do it.

As long as it doesn't interfere with other parts of your life, then there is no harm.
Considering that the alternative for many people seems to be to get frustated and then fuck the first escaped lunatic in a drunken frenzy without protection and the whine 'why couldn't I say no' on this forum I would say that you are facing less risk.
Normal/healthy is that what allows you to function in society and remain content from day to day. If that is the case then what you are doing is fine for you. As said, all women have sexual needs, better to satisfy it on your own then with the first guy to give you the time of day.
It is also good for your sexual development to at least know your own body, how are you supposed to let a partner know what you like or don't like if you don't know?
1. You won't be a single mom from masturbation.
2. You can't get an STD from masturbation.
3. You don't get a reputation from masturbation.
4. You won't be asking, was this an orgasm I experienced during sex.
5. You won't be asking, I can't orgasm during intercourse what can I do about it.
But don't talk about this with your friends, it is a private thing and nobody but you needs to know. Nothing to be ashamed about but why seek their opinion? Don't you think it is weird that they apparently have such low sex-drives they don't to masturbate?

 I imagine that most girls masturbate, including the ones who say it is weird.
Providing you are not using things which could hurt you, then you won't come to any harm by masturbating. It is perfectly normal, so don't worry, just enjoy.
