A female reader, xxx.unknown.xxx United States +, writes (4 August 2011):

It mostly depends on the guy. Some are grossed out by it while some don't mind. At first I was insecure about it and I assumed that my guy didn't like to have sex while I was on my period. But when I actually asked him about it, it didn't bother him at all. So just ask your guy about his preferences.

It's definitely something that is personal to your boyfriend. Just ask him his thoughts on it.

When my BF and I did it on my period the first time, I was the one who was a little freaked out...not him. But after time it's fine. i actually found i get turned on a lot more around my time.

Just make sure, if you decide to, that you have something under you both that you don't mind getting blood on. Even better, do it in the bathroom!

Good luck!

DoubleM agony auntWell, I was always kind of a "clean" freak, so blood on my pecker after was kind of gross - but has depended on the girl and situation. Some told me in advance, some didn't and some offered a bj instead, which was often better. As I aged, it did not matter as much, and of course, older women rarely have such an issue.

A reader, anonymous, writes (4 August 2011):

My ex had no issue with it at all. For him, any time was a good time and on the period was better since the walls of the vagina are swollen in that time, so it makes you tighter. However, my current boyfriend doesn't like it. We had sex on my period once when we first started dating, but haven't done it at all in the following year. He says the smell turns him off and he just can't do it. So it just depends on the guy.

A female reader, charliesdevil73 United States +, writes (4 August 2011):

charliesdevil73 agony auntIt all depends on you and your boyfriend. Most of my boyfriends that I have been intimate with didn't care if I was on my period when we had sex. Actually one guy got really turned on with the idea of it, I think it was since it is still sort of taboo. I used to think it was disgusting and now I could care less. Although, for me, I am not as sensitive during my period so I only have sex on my period if my fiance really wants to or I am really horny. If you haven't tried it yet, bring it up to your boyfriend as something you want to try and see what he says. There is nothing harmful by doing it so if to find you like it, then you don't have to count those days as no sex days anymore.
