Is he really gay? Or just curious?

I really need your help and your opinion on my story. I don't know what to do anymore. I met my bf a year and 4 months ago. He was in the military. The first time he came to see me everything was perfect, until he told me that he had kissed a girl and then all of my insecurities came out. When he came home for good, i was still really insecure, and i hacked into his email account and what i found out wasn't great. I saw emails of him talking to gay guys and to transsexuals, i didn't know what to think at that moment. He was also trying to hook up with people on craiglist. I confronted him and he began to cry, he said that it was a moment of confusion and curiosity but he wasn't gay, he was just bored at the military station because supposedly i didn't let him do anything or go out. Right now we haven't had sex for 3 months, I think hes back in his old ways of internet chatting with people. What do I do? it hurts so much because i really love this guy, but i don't know what to think or to believe. Is he really gay? was he just curious? please help me out. I'm heartbroken right now
