writes:So confused! Dated this great guy for several months. Things were going great. I think he got scared b/c he told me he needed to take some time to think about the relationship (he did say he cared about me). After a few days, I get an email telling me he thinks he doesn't have the energy to make it work. After several weeks, I am still getting texts from him every couple of days (have a nice day type texts), I have NOT initiated contact since he said he didn't have the energy. Is he just being nice, or is he confused? I like the guy, but don't want to be strung along.

Say you feel a bit bad about it but since you last saw him you have a bit busy and sorry you don’t have time to reply much. Sort of - don't take it personally and see you around. I don't think he will persue you again but at least you will have the satisfaction of maybe stirring up a reaction and turning it down.
