i have the same problem right now. i was supposed to get my period around the last few days of the year or the beginning of the year, i forgot when i got it in december since i'm not regular, but i have not gotten it yet. normally i get it every month, so it's freaking me out. i'm a virgin and i haven't done anything either, but it's still freaky. i get cramps all the time and feel like i have it at times but i don't. it is kind of weird but i'm not sure why its happening. i've been stressed but i'm not sure if it's overstressed. i read somewhere that weird sleeping schedules or constant change to your sleeping schedule and stuff like that can make you miss it, because it throws you off, so it may be that.

someone reply to me, i'm kind of freaking out for some reason :/

I am having the exact same problem right now, i get 'cramps' every few days an they only last 5minutes but then nothing happens. I am not a virgin, but took a pregnancy test which was negative. I'm also very worried and really do not know what to do! Any luck with yours? x

MonksDaBomb agony auntI'm in my mid-20s and I have always had irregular periods. It's really annoying, actually, but nothing I can do. I, too, get cramps - some months worse than others - and some months it's a good week-long stretch of cramps before the period actually happens. So as long as you're not sexually active, I wouldn't worry - just take a pain reliever for the cramps and don't worry (stress makes periods worse, at least for me).

A reader, anonymous, writes (25 June 2009):

I don't think is anything to be alarmed about. The cramping means that your body is getting ready to have your period. It is not uncommon for women to be irregular sometimes. It could be that stress or excercise or diet played a roll. You can even have one month be heavy and the next month light and it alternates like that all of the time.

If you are really not satisfied with not worrying, then the best thing is to get an exam by your doctor and ask them questions so you can learn about your body.

Take care, and use a little heating pad right now for those cramps, it just might speed things along.

A reader, anonymous, writes (25 June 2009):

Sometimes your period can be late or even miss a month depending on the amount of exercise you get or if you are stressed. If you are a virgin then there is no worry for pregnancy but if you are still worried go to the doctor, they would be able to help better.
