Firstly, why would your sisters laugh? They went through the exact same thing and so does every girl! You should be proud of becoming a woman :) Not ashamed.
Anyway...why do your sisters have to know?
Too be honest i was exactly the same as you, i kept on thinking of ways to tell her. But she is the main person who would understand. So i say just do it. The longer you put it of the harder it will get.
Don't worry! All my love x

Why would your sisters make fun of you? It is a natural occurence and something which happens to all women, and for a long time. Get your mum on her own and tell her today, she will be fine about it and relieved to know that you have started and that you are ok. Please take my advice and have that chat.

They wouldn't make fun of you because they had to do the same thing! And your mum will have had to do the same too. You need to tell her because then if you have any problems or if you run out of supplies she can help you. There's nothing to be embarrassed about because it happens to everyone. Once you've told her you'll feel like a massive weight has been lifted off your shoulders and you'll wonder what you were worried about! =]

I also have two older sisters so I know how you feel completely! Starting your period happens to every girl at some point so its really nothing to be embarassed about.
Tell her when you're sisters arent there, she'll probably be expecting you to tell her soon anyway so it wont be a shock.
Good luck, dont be afriad!

All you have to say to your mum is this, " Mum I think I've started" and she'll know what you mean and take it from there. You may just be busy doing something else while you say this so you don't have to look your mum straight in the eye. Don't worry about it, your mum will know exactly how you feel and will help you along. That's what mums are for.

hey,
i remember the day i got my first period and i had to phone my mum at work to tell her because i didn't know what to do. I felt ashamed and embarressed but my mum came home and she was proud and so happy.
Its a wonderful thing and time.
your older sisters must have started theirs by now. so trust me they wont make fun of you, infact they will be even more supportive than you think. and if they havent then they will and you will be there for them.
if you still dont have the confidence then write your mum a little letter saying " Mum, Ive started my periods" and leave it for her.
trust me she'll be more embarassed that you didn' feel you could go to her.
anyways ur a woman now! : ) So be proud and fearless.
welcome to womanhood!!!

Your mum is probably waiting for this day to come, Is she some kind of ogre or what? You have to tell her, and honestly darlin', there's nothing to be embarrassed about.
She'll be upset that you didn't tell her, and anyway, she's bound to find out soon enough.
It's not a taboo subject and it's something that every girl gets sooner or later.
Now you go to her and just come out with it, but do it when your sisters are not around, then you wont feel like they're going to take the mick.
Congratulations...you are now officially a young lady.
Good luck.
